5 Healthy Habits To Prepare Your Body To Eliminate Disease

Creating healthy habits is essential to creating a healthy body.

Healthy Habit 1: DETOX
The first step to a healthy body is through detoxification. This will clean out the intestines and give the body a fresh start.

The best detox I have found for first timers is a juice fast. It's very easy to do and you will feel very little hunger.

For three days eat nothing and drink only juices. You can have as much as you want; any time you feel hungry. The first day may be be a little tough, the second day will be easier. By the third day you will start to feel healthier, and wonder why you have never done this before.

We want to give the digestive track a rest. So no thick juices or solid food. Also, try to stay away from juices that have sugar in them. Many are very sweet naturally.

You will feel lighter, your belly will feel thinner, your head will be clearer, you will have more energy and you will probably lose a few pounds. If you have years of build up you may have mild flu-like symptoms, this is normal; it's your body’s way of cleaning itself out.

You may drink any of the following:

  • grape juice
  • apple juice
  • grapefruit juice
  • carrot juice
  • pomegranate juice
  • lemon water-one of the best
  • juices from own juicer
  • any other clear juices

Then on the fourth day, start out slow eating mild liquids, such as clear soup and a few whole grain crackers. The stomach will shrink over these three days, so this is a good chance if you are an over-eater to continue to eat small portions often. By eating small amounts we can more easily listen to our bodies.

Once you have finished the detox you will feel great. Not only will you be giving our bodies what is best, but also eliminating all that isn't. You will be on your way to creating healthy habits for a lifetime of joyous living.

Use this time to clean out your cupboards and eliminate junk foods from your diet, especially white sugar and white flour. If you are really serious about your health you will cut out any processed or packaged foods as well. It will be hard, more so if you have family members who are addicted to junk food and like to have it around, but it will be well worth it.

Soon you will crave healthier whole foods and despise junk food. Pay attention and you will find that foods with white flour and sugar will cause loss of energy and encourage cravings for unfulfilling junk food. In contrast, whole foods will give you sustained energy and a feeling of satisfaction.

Buy organic whenever possible.

Finding organic can sometimes be tricky. Some products will say organic but look closely, they may only have one ingedient that is organic the rest are not.

To get the best organic food look for "100% organic". If you can’t find 100% then get the next best thing. Which might be 80% or 60% organic.

Natural is not the same as organic. Coffee is natural, but not very healthy. So, be careful as to what you buy.

Farmers markets are a wonderful place to buy organic, but just because they are homegrown does not mean they didn’t use herbicides, fungicides and pesticides on their fruits and vegetables, so make sure to ask. These pesticides can build up in your system and can create disease in our bodies. Eliminate these as much as possible.

Organic food can be expensive. So, think of it this way, you can either spend you hard earned money on organic food now and enjoy a strong, disease-free body and a long life. Or spend it later when you are unhealthy, full of disease and need to be hospitalized or have surgery.

The next step to creating healthy habits is to know our bodies are made up of 87% water.

Most people don’t drink enough water. Not drinking enough water can cause so many problems; headaches, back aches, pains, confusion, tension and weight gain.

When your cells do not get enough water; one of the basic elements of life, they run on "panic" mode. This causes our bodies to maintain only basic sustaining functions. Abandoning more noble causes such as healing disease.

If you are ever in pain or upset emotionally, drink a glass of water, then drink another, drink one more if needed. You will notice subtle changes, and over time realize that many of your aches and pains are gone.

I have seen constant migraines go away in 20 minutes. I have watched a child wake up in the middle of the night with leg cramps, and after a half a glass of water was fast asleep. I have watched a woman on the verge of a psychotic breakdown, calm down in a matter of minutes just by drinking 2 glasses of water. I am fully convinced that when the doctor says “take two aspirin and call me in the morning.” It’s the water we drink, not the aspirin that is healing us.

We must drink 8-10 or more glasses a day. A good rule of thumb is for every 100 lbs of body weight drink at least 1 quart of water.

The better the water, the better it is for us. Distilled water is pure water, everything has been taken out of it so there is nothing harmful for our bodies in it, but the good vitamins and minerals are not in there either. So, if you can get to a spring of natural water that is the best.

walking health Healthy Habit 5: WALK
Walking will help to assimilate the food you eat, and move it through, to the ends of our bodies.

In many cases we need those perfect nutrients getting to the very smallest nerves of our fingers, toes and eyes.

Walk as much as possible, if you can’t walk much, sit in a chair and use your own weight to move your arms and legs up and down. Anything to get moving.

It has been suggested that the least amount of exercise to do is 30 minutes 3 times a week, but the people who have the healthiest bodies in this world are those who walk miles and miles everyday. Our bodies were designed to move, so the more you can move the better.
